¶ Sandbox CAI: Creative Ad Variant
In this article, you will learn how to use Ad Background Replacement tool to generate Creative Ad variants.
This feature is designed to streamline the process of changing ad backgrounds and provide image descriptions. Each generated variant comes with a detailed description of the visual and contextual elements. You can edit the descriptions and generate more ad variants, making it super handy for quickly generating fresh and engaging ads.
¶ Navigate to Creative Ad Variant

Select the "CAI" icon from the left sidebar to access the Creative AI section.

Choose "Creative Ad Variant" from the options pane to open the Ad Background Replacement tool.
1. Input Brand Name
- Enter your brand name in the provided field. For this guide, we'll use "Clutter."
2. Upload Original Ad Image
- Upload your original ad image by dragging and dropping the file into the upload field or by browsing your files. The file limit is 200MB, supporting PNG, JPEG, and JPG formats.
3. Generate Foreground Mask
- Click on "Generate variants" to start the process. The platform will generate a foreground mask to isolate the main subject of the image.
¶ Step 1: Generate foreground mask
As the system processes your image, the "Profiling images" progress bar will display the stages of creating a cleaned image (subject only) and a masked image (area for background change).
¶ Step 2: Generate Ad Variants
The platform will then generate various ad variants, showing real-time updates as the progress bar moves from 0% to 100%.
Once the process is complete, you can download the generated variants by clicking the "Download Ad Variant 1 Image" or "Download Ad Variant 2 Image" buttons.
¶ Editing and Regenerating Variants
If the initial variants do not meet your requirements, you can edit the descriptive prompts for each variant individually. Use the “Generate again” button to create new variations, which gives you more control over generating ad variants.
